Every now and then there will be justified reasons why it is not possible for many people to convene for a meeting or a conference at a specific location. The short-term nature of the date, long distances and complications or costs arising therefrom – or triggered by current events: health concerns on the basis of a viral risk like the present Corona Virus.  

Nevertheless, in most cases there are no grounds for postponing events like meetings, conferences or conventions or even cancel them entirely.
